Crews plan to remove curbs on both sides of Maple Blvd., weather permitting.

A Taylor contractor will replace curbs and do resurfacing on Maple Blvd. in the City of Monroe next week.

Crews for Al’s Asphalt Paving will make the improvements on Maple between Linwood St. and the north end of Maple north of Orchard St., said Patrick M. Lewis, director of engineering and public services for the city.

For the coming week, the crews plan to remove curbs on both sides of the roadway, weather permitting, Lewis said Friday. During construction, only local traffic will be permitted and on-street parking will be restricted, he said.

The crews are also continuing to resurface Stockton and Sylvan Drs. and replace curbs along these roadways.

“Placement of new curbs and gutters and drive approaches on half of each roadway is completed,” he said. “Replacement activities on the opposite side will be occurring in the coming week.”

During construction, only local traffic will be permitted and on-street parking will be restricted, he said.

Meanwhile, a Brownstown Township contractor will continue repairs as part of the city’s sidewalk replacement effort.

Crews are targeting an area west of Telegraph Rd. (US-24) and north of the River Raisin. The contractor also is working on some scattered complaint areas citywide and roadway patches from city utility work.

“The contractor will be mostly working in Cranbrook Estates and Frenchman’s Bend for the coming week,” he said. “There will be only spot-lane closures through the work zone, which may be occurring on any streets within that area.”
